Word.Inspired.Wear.
I started this blog with the express purpose of getting all the ideas out of my head and into the world. This includes writing, pictures, sketches, thoughts, random ideas, etc.
The biggest contribution I hope to make here is for my long-term business. I am calling it word.inspired.wear., and I hope to create “fashion” silhouettes based on lines from plays, literature, and music. I am extremely reluctant to call it “fashion” because though I love and respect and secretly worship the fashion world, I just don’t care that much about designing for it. It takes a certain type of person to work in the fashion world (as in a cut-throat maniac), and sorry folks, but that’s just not me.
So one day I hope to create my pseudo-fashion/costume/pop culture line, drawing from all of the things that inspire me, and I am using this blog as a way to organize and investigate. This is the first entry of many more to come….
The seed that planted the idea for my business came from a little fabulous and freaky book called “Geek Love” by Katherine Dunn.

Though this first quote isn’t actually from the book, I fully expect to post some inspiration from Ms. Dunn’s masterpiece (It is one of my favorite books). In an ironic twist, this quote was featured as the opener of “Geek Love”, and I would like to think that it inspired Ms.Dunn to create her book.
